Hey there pals!
I’m so excited to start this adventure together! Before we dig in to all things Disney, here’s a little bit about me!
My name is Emily Hardie and I’m a recent graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge and new business owner of Kindness Goodness Magic Adventures! My husband Alex and I are high school sweethearts and together we have the most incredible little boy and the sweetest dog. You’ll see them around, I’m sure! My background is in graphic design and youth ministry. I’ve done a little bit of everything – from designing study books to planning retreats for a couple hundred students. Whatever I do, I put my heart and soul into it! I’m passionate about deep connections and meaningful moments.
One more thing about me… This might not sound like something a Disney Travel Agent would typically say… I’m not really a “dreamer’. Or at least, I didn’t think I was. I actually have joked with my husband that HE is the dreamer and I’m the dream crusher. 😬😂 But I feel like a lot of that shifted in me this past year.
You see, I had heard this a million times, but I’ve come to learn that it’s true: when you become a parent, suddenly time goes by way too quickly. There are less hours in the day, there are more things on the list to do, and what seemed so important at one time doesn’t seem to matter as much now. The little cooing baby you held in your arms is now running and screaming like a wild man across the yard. You get what I’m saying.
After a year of my son’s life flew before my eyes, I realized – I cannot let this time pass by without soaking up every single moment that I can. Sometimes, yes, life can be mundane in the day-to-day motions. Sometimes, yes, work and commitments demand time and attention. But there is nothing more precious – nothing I need to be more attentive to – than my family.
So I started to dream.
And then I dreamt some more.
Before I knew it, I was planning a family camping weekend and booking trips to Disney and dreaming about all of the sweet memories we would make together. And then I thought, “Why not help other families do the same?” I approached my husband – the world’s greatest dreamer, motivator, coach, cheerleader, etc. – with this idea, and he said “Yes! Let’s do it!” And so here we are. Just a few months later, starting our own business, learning all of the ins and outs of owning, running, and succeeding as a travel agency.
I’m excited! And ready. And nervous. And scared. And really, really hopeful!
